Keep Your Physical Health In Check Over the Holidays

Oh, the parties, celebrations, cookie exchanges, massive meals, decadent desserts, luscious eggnog drinks….

You don’t want to start a restrictive diet, depriving regimen, or forced workout schedule. Not now, not ever.

The key is to BALANCE and MODERATE INDULGENCE.

Easier read than done, right? The holidays can bring on a lot of demands and overwhelming emotions.

The holiday season can be so energizing and up-lifting that it’s hard to wind down at the end of bustling days. Even good stress can put you out of sorts—munching irregularly, drinking excessively, welling with anxiety, feeling like you’re in a whirlwind.

The holiday season can also be draining. Sadness, depression or anxiety can kick in extra hard.

But it doesn’t have to be hard to grasp the holiday spirit.

In this blog post, I’ve listed 5+ questions for journal or thought prompts to help you calm your emotions and stabilize your energy levels. #5 is really powerful….but don’t skip 1-4.

Maintain Your Positive Energy at Holiday Gatherings and with Difficult People

The holidays mean different things for everyone. Families and old friends get together with the hopes of reconnecting, but the reunions aren’t always festive affairs.

Remember this: You don’t have to take on the emotions of others. You can’t control other people, but you can lessen the impact of any negative energy.

This starts with the one thing you CAN control: how you show up.

Considering how you want to express yourself, examining your expectations, and believing that people can be different (like you can be, too) will have a huge impact on your experiences.
